for myself, no. generally, i do not buy music when there is so much free music available.
as a gift for someone else? maybe. if that’s what they desire, i see little difference in a scientist and technology working together from two or more songwriters collaborating on creating a musical recording. I could see my daughter wanting that and i’d probably have to be the one to buy it because her dad probably would absolutely refuse to until she wore him down with the love only a daughter can have. now, a scientifically engineered JAZZ album, even her dad would be interested in checking out!
Do I think that scientists that create technologically induced music deserve credit for creating music just like a songwriter? absolutely. do i think that the technology that makes it possible deserve a slice of the songwriting pie? absolutely, not like an equal co-writer, more like when a recording artist puts their name on song and contributes general thoughts and ideas.
